Caliente identifies an error in some September 28 utility bills
The city asks affected customers to allow 48–72 hours for corrections, then contact City Hall for an updated billing amount.
Caliente Public Utilities has identified a billing error affecting some utility bills issued September 28, 2026, according to a notice posted by the City of Caliente that day.
What the city asks customers to do
Customers who believe their bill was affected are asked to allow City Hall staff 48–72 hours to identify and correct the issue. Once the correction has been made, the city says to contact City Hall for the updated billing amount.
City Hall lists its public phone number as 775-726-3131. Read the official billing-error notice for the city's instructions and check with staff about your own account.
The notice does not identify which individual accounts are affected, provide corrected balances or announce a payment extension or fee waiver. As of our September 29 review, the city homepage still featured the notice; we had not found a posted resolution there.
